Chosen Few

In support of the President of the Reutlingen Chapter who was incarcerated for a crime he didn’t commit. Staring out from these walls I remember life so free. Now you’ve locked me up and you’ve throw away the key. You made your laws for a different life to mine But I’m not like the others I’m of a different kind. Taking care of my own, but only asking what was due. I was doing my duty for the chosen few. They say that I was wrong, that I broke their rules. I say that their laws are written for fools. I’m living my life the only way I can, That’s the thing that really puts the fear in the man Taking care of my own, but only asking what was due. I was doing my duty for the chosen few. You talk of justice in your wigs and your robes, But you talk in rhymes and you talk in codes. It’s a tainted word for the Big House Crew ‘Cos Justice depends on your point of view Taking care of my own, but only asking what was due. I was doing my duty for the chosen few. Wherever we are we are never alone. We’ve always got our brothers, everywhere is home. You can burn up with anger you can hate me with spite But you can’t touch my colours of the red and white Taking care of my own, but only asking what was due. I was doing my duty for the chosen few One day I’ll get out and feel the wind in my hair, The sun on my face and no time to spare. I’ll take that road into the setting sun And keep riding on with the mighty 81 Taking care of my own, but only asking what was due. I was doing my duty for the chosen few
