Walking in Guildford (2/2)

The accompanying blog for this video: Picking up from our last video, walk around Guildford resumes at St. Mary’s Church. We walk down to the Town Mill, pausing momentarily at the neighbouring Yvonne Arnaud Theatre. Our path next takes us to the Millmead Lock on the Wey River. Outside the Westyne Garden, we will see the charming statues of Alice and the White Rabbit. The next highlight of the walk is the Town Bridge and the historic Treadmill crane. As we follow the river, we reach the Odeon cinema, before making our way back to the heart of town at Friary Street and the bustling Shopping Centre. Tucked away is Angel Gate, a quaint alley that opens to a picturesque courtyard behind the iconic Angel Hotel. We take a small detour to traverse the snug Milkhouse Gate before rejoining the main High Street to marvel at both Abbot Hospital and the Holy Trinity Church. As we continue, we pass the statue of George Abbot and the grand edifices of the old Royal Grammar School and Somerset House. Our adventure winds down at G-Live, ultimately bringing us back to Eastgate Garden, where our walk first started. #walking #walk #englishcountryside #slowtv #notalking #justwalking #countryside #ANOB #guildford #GuildfordTownCentre #Surrey #walkingtour #livingwalks
