Russian Blogger Sacked After Prigozhin Interview, Wagner Chief Says “We’ll See How You Shut Me Up”

A pro-Kremlin blogger claims that he has been fired for publishing an interview with Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin. Russian blogger Konstantin Dolgov posted a lengthy interview with Yevgeny Prigozhin on his Telegram channel on May 23. In the interview, Prigozhin warned of a potential revolution in Russia and slammed Putin’s war decisions and Defence Minister Shoigu. Prigozhin also decried the detachment of Russia’s wealthy elite, accusing them of insufficient commitment to the war. The interview was widely seen as Prigozhin’s attempt to use his recent victory in Bakhmut to increase his domestic standing. He has been locked in a bitter personal battle with the Russian military chiefs, including Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu. Dolgov said that whoever made the decision to fire him was probably not happy with Prigozhin’s statements.
