DASAVATHARA HASTA ALARIPPU _ Bharathanatyam Invocation Dance _ Ten Incarnations of Vishnu _ Sadhna

Mudra has been an integral part of bharathanatyam and is a medium of practical mudras or hastas are ten in number that basically depict ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Dasavathara alarippu is choreographed in such a way that it describes the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu using the hand gestures of Dasavatharam described in the Abhinaya Darpanam Book, yet not compromising in the structure of the alarippu dance and the speeds that goes in the increasing order. Every Alarippu has a rhythmic pattern, like this one is set in chatusra eka talam.
