Mourning in Argentina! Flood destroys the homes of 5,000 families!

More than 5,000 families and 300,000 hectares were affected by the floods in Argentina’s northern coastal zone. The provinces of Chaco, Corrientes and Santa Fe were hardest hit by a week of heavy and continuous rains, while the provinces of Formosa and Misiones also reported problems. Four people died in the region: three in Paso de los Libres in the province of Corrientes and one in the province of Santiago del Estero, where a boy was hit by a fallen branch. Several cities are completely cut off. Over the past 11 days, 400 millimeters of rain has fallen in the northeast of the province of Santa Fe. El Nocero, Santa Margherita and Villa Minetti were among the hardest hit cities. The city of Los Amores in Santa Fe received 740 millimeters of rain in a week, equivalent to the average annual rainfall. Local authorities warn that if current conditions continue to affect the area, up to 1,500 people will be forced to evacuate.
