Hail brings sudden winter to German city

A heavy hailstorm surprised the southern German city Reutlingen with a winter like scenario on Friday (Aug 4), as accumulated hailstones turned streets white. In some parts hailstones had fallen to a height of 30cm and had to be removed by road clearance vehicles. Traffic was temporarily interrupted, and some locals took to their own means to free sidewalks and garages.
