Released on Decca Records, this is Sir Georg Solti conducting his beloved Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Igor Stravinsky’s Symphony in Three Movements, Mvmt I. Stravinsky was the type of composer that did not write music to appease the critics of his time. There was a raw power to it and the routes he would take to expand on his central themes, though a bit chaotic, had a purpose. His symphonies were meant to be taken as one piece, not piece-wise. As always, comments are welcome and encouraged.
