Bakhmut direction: ongoing battles near Chasov Yar

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Bakhmut direction: ongoing battles near Chasov Yar Situation as of 09:00, February 10, 2024. To the west of Bakhmut, Russian troops are launching attacks towards Chasov Yar, which is a crucial defense center for the AFU in the occupied part of the DPR. The fighting is concentrated in the Bogdanovka area, where the Russian Armed Forces have managed to expand their control by several hundred meters. ▪️While the changes in that area may not be significant enough to greatly affect the tactical situation, south of the village, Russian units have successfully driven the enemy out of several important strongholds. ▪️Spetsnaz Archangel has released footage of the enemy retreating from one of their positions towards Chasov Yar. This position turned out to be a cemetery located south of Bogdanovka. Coordinates: , ▪️Currently, the fighting is taking place in the area of the Popovsky Forest - a crucial natural shelter that can be used for launching further attacks on Chasiv Yar. The enemy’s resources clearly indicate its importance in defense. ️There have also been reports of the Russian Armed Forces achieving success to the north of the cemetery at mark 187. Considering the proximity to the cemetery and the mass retreat of the enemy from their positions, it is highly likely that Russian troops are close to gaining control over this section along the railway line. However, despite the AFU’s retreat, it is not yet time to rush further. Without control of the Popovsky Forest, launching an assault on Chasov Yar would be impossible. Moreover, in close proximity to the landing area, there is the Kanal microdistrict, situated at an altitude of over 230 meters. At the same time, the advance near the cemetery and along the railway line poses a threat to the AFU contingent on the southern outskirts of Bogdanovka, as this area is located in lowlands relative to the positions of the Russian Armed Forces.
