Al Schmitt has been recording artists for over 70 years, recording legends like Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Johnny Cash, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Paul McCartney, and many more! He has won 20 Grammy awards, 2 Latin Grammys, and a Trustees Grammy for Lifetime Achievement. He is a truly legendary producer/engineer! The team worked with Al, analyzed his workflow, gear, and processes over the last decades, including everything from subtle harmonic characteristics to echos, compression, and EQ. This allowed them to develop distinctive features that define his sound. The Al Schmitt plugin has 6 distinct profiles: vocal, piano, bass, brass, strings, and mix (bus). Each one contains different sonic characteristics and parameters that are based on Al’s workflow and perception of each instrument.
