Heitor Villa-Lobos conducts the Violincello Society in this 1958 recording of Bach’s Prelude No. 8 in E flat minor, BWV 853, from Book 1 of the Well Tempered Clavier. Villa-Lobos transcribed this work (as well as several others from Book 1 of the WTC) for what the LP jacket describes as an “orchestra of cellos.“ I created this video from the LP you can see above, issued in 1959 on the Everest label, serial number LPBR-6024.
