Putin says Ukraine run by “band of drug addicts and neo-Nazis“; urges Ukrainian army to stage coup

Russian President Vladimir Putin urged the Ukrainian military to seize power in their country on Friday, calling the leaders of the government a “band of drug addicts and neo-Nazis.“ “I once again appeal to the military personnel of the armed forces of Ukraine: do not allow neo-Nazis and Banderites (Ukrainian radical nationalists) to use your children, wives and elders as human shields,“ Putin said at a televised meeting with Russia’s security council. “Take power into your own hands, it will be easier for us to reach an agreement...“ He said. The comments come a day after Moscow launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, drawing condemnation from all corners of the globe.
