Triste - Bossa Nova Guitar Lesson #15: Advanced Phrase 4x3x/3x4x

Bossa Nova Guitar Lesson #15: Advanced Bossa Nova Phrase 4x3x/3x4x (4233) in: Triste (Antonio Carlos Jobim) This lesson contain subtitles. Transcription is based on two recordings made by Jobim, an instrumental version from 1967 released on album Wave and on Jobim’s duet with Frank Sinatra recorded in 1969. Major highlights of this lesson include arpeggiated chords in the introduction and strings muting throughout the song. Arpeggiated chords are played such that the highest note of the chord (the last one played) is played on the beat. Special care with muting is necessary as there are a lot of open strings played. Note that the closing phrase represents an attempt to imitate agogo bells. Enjoy playing Triste by Tom Jobim!
