The temporary truce between the Israel Defense Forces and Hamas does not apply to Hezbollah’s actions. The latter certainly acts in support of its Palestinian brothers, but has its own clearly understood goals in confronting Israel. Symbolically, on the eve of the Israeli parliament’s vote on a ceasefire and prisoner exchange with Hamas (the vote was 35 to three in favor of the deal), Hezbollah launched a rocket attack on the territory of one of the country’s four largest defense companies, Rafael Industries, which, among other things, manufactures Iron Dome missile defense systems. On November 22 alone, Hezbollah struck Israel 15 times, attacking an IDF logistical base, equipment and transportation sites, and personnel deployment points of border units in at least three locations.
