Making Bird Houses From An Aspen Log

Even before the first snow, I had the idea to start mass production of diy bird houses in the forest. These are such artificial nesting places for small birds. They are made most easily from the windfall aspen. Their core is usually rotten and is fairly easy to clean out. Here conifers will not go - they stain with resin. And it’s bad for birds. I tried to beat the whole circumference with a chisel by hand - it is very energy-consuming and I decided that fire could do this work. So much faster, the main thing is to have time to extinguish in time, so that the walls do not burn out. All that remains is to clean the inside of the coal, drill a notch and attach the bottom with a lid. There was suspicion that it would be impossible to get rid of the smell of burning, but this is not so. Finished houses exude an exceptionally woody smell!
