“Pur ti miro“ from the opera L’incoronazione di Poppea in certainly one of Claudio Monteverdi’s most famous creations, a brilliant duet that was composed in the latest fashionable style of the time, 1640’s - maybe in collaboration with a younger composer, such as Cavalli. Performed by NOI (Maikki Säikkä, soprano, and Tuomas Kourula, theorbo) with Marika Kivinen, mezzo soprano. The video was shot at Barker cotton mill and the soundtrack recorded in St. Catherine’s church in Turku, Finland.
