Keep Lookin’ by Automatic Shoes

Here’s a song I wrote on the guitar I found in the trash behind my neighbor’s house. Everything I play on this tends to come out like one of Marty Robbins’ Gunfighter Ballads. 🙂 I wanted to write some words that I would have liked to hear from the 90s popstars of my childhood. As a young gay kid, I always felt such disconnect from the world and music of my time, but found comfort in 60s & 70s music, the absolute pinnacle for me being early 70s British Glam, which to me means anything that was manufactured to capitalize on the otherworldliness of Marc Bolan & . If only our 90s popstars had actually been free themselves... (Free Britney!). Perhaps a generation or two could have ’woken’ up sooner and started to re-evaluate and rebuild our broken ways of doing things - be it politics, policing, or the music industry.
