Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren demonstrates his ever-elusive “Dirk Blast“ as performed in Scarve, Soilwork, Devin Townsend Project, Aborted, Sybreed, etc. Verbeuren came up with this application of the flam accent in 1994 and first recorded it in the song “Shelly’s Dead“ on the Scarve mini-CD “Six Tears Of Sorrow“ released in 1996.
Correction: the rudiment shown is the flam accent, not flam tap.
