He showed me the value of hard work and what it is to display pride in one’s craft - like his father before him. He purchased a bungalow in Musgrave Harbour in 1988 after he had sold his oh so beloved Chevy Van which left him enough to have the dwelling moved via tractor-trailer (those really were the days!) next to his parents house in Ragged Harbour that allowed me to grow up right next to my grandparents Evelyn & Walter.
