Craftsmanship at SUNTORY TOMI NO OKA WINERY, Yamanashi, Japan (1m39s)

TOMI NO OKA WINERY, located in Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture, overlooks the Kofu Basin with magnificent Mt. Fuji to the south, and was named for the beauty revealed as one climbs these hills. This winery has been in operation for more than a century since 1909. Today, varieties of grapes are grown in vineyards stretching across 25 hectares. We focus on using only grapes from our own vineyards, adhering to our ironclad rule of growing each variety in the soil that suits it best. Our wines are literally created from the ground up. Take a look at the beautiful landscape and how we create the exclusive Japanese wines*, such as our flagship brand, TOMI. *Japanese Wine refers to wine produced and bottled in Japan using 100% domestic grapes.
