How scientific racism became disreputable and almost universally regarded in the West with distaste

Before the Second World War, almost everybody in Europe and the United States accepted that there are inherent differences between ethnic groups. Today, the very idea is anathema and likely to lead those subscribing to such notions into being treated as pariahs.
