Ruff Ruff & Ready at Spike Island 1990

The band was stopped and searched at the ferry terminal on arriving from a long tour of Ireland. Amazingly no-one was arrested and the customs cops had a good time that night. The Ruffs found themselves on the stage at Spike Island. The set was sped up A LOT and cut short cos the crowd were there for one thing only: the Stone Roses. Basically RRR were glassed off that day, but had a lot of fun in spite of it! The Roses were truly shocking when they played, but that is documented at length elsewhere. The highlight of the day was Gary Clail with Jah Wobble: very, very deep.
