China Floods | Deadly rains struck Beijing, recording the heaviest rainfall in 140 years. 11 people died, and over a dozen are missing. Floods affected Hebei province too. A red alert was issued for nearby districts, with more than 130 million people impacted by extreme rainfall in China. Suburban areas and Wang Jiayuan Reservoir were inundated. Evacuations reached 974,400 in Beijing and Hebei, and 42,211 in Shanxi. President Xi Jinping called for all-out rescue efforts. Residents followed stay-at-home rules amid the rain tragedy.
