The Oak’s Aka The Oaks & Cuts (1926)

Epsom, Surrey. Title: “Memories of this year’s dismal Derby forgotten in the sunshine, as the favorite ’Short Story’ wins“. M/S of horses and jockeys being lead past a crowd onto the race course. High angled L/S of crowds gathered around the track. Bizarre trick shot: M/S of people watching races in stand, a cirlce has been superimposed over the top, inside the circle is panning shot of horse running round track. Panning shot follows horse and jockey (winner ’Short Story’?) riding off track and through crowds with a mounted police escort. High angled L/S of horse and jockey being lead into an enclosure, a crowd of men in top hats are there to congratulate them. More shots start at 01:29:34 - look like cuts / out takes. Various shots of competing horses and jockeys lining up at start of race. Various shots of jockeys mounting their horses. Some general shots of race; look very similar to those in story THE DERBY 1926 in G 1299. Please see separate record for details. FILM ID:
