Bill Evans – Sunday at the Village Vanguard Not Now Music 1

The first six songs here were recorded live at New York’s Village Vanguard on June 25, 1961. Paul Motian (drums), Scott La Faro (bass) and Bill Evans (piano). Though Bill Evans was the leader of this trio, these 6 tracks (released in the fall of 1961 as the LP “Sunday at the Village Vanguard”) were selected to highlight the solos and two compositions of the phenomenally talented La Faro, who died at age 25 just 10 days after these recordings in a July 6, 1961 car accident. 1.
