A super short intro to Jane Morris (aka Jane Burden) and her Arts & Crafts embroidery work.
Jane Morris is one of the original designers and embroiderers of the Arts & Crafts Movement. In this video I’ve aimed to give a short intro to Jane Morris and her work - including her collabs with husband William Morris and daughter May Morris and her modelling for Pre-Raphaelite artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti who would also develop an obsessive love for her. However, she was much more than just a muse... she created iconic textile designs and embroideries for Morris & Co. I visited Red House and Kelmscott House in London to see where she spent her time working and creating these embroideries and textile designs.
Hope you enjoy watching and let me know if there are any artists who you’d love to hear more about.
