Sing a Song of Patrick I Wrote This Song Patrick. Sing a Song of Patrick is a SpongeBob SquarePants episode from Season 5. In this episode, Patrick writes a song called “I Wrote This Song“ and submits it to a record label. Patrick and SpongeBob are immediately kicked out by the radio station, so, finding a different method, Patrick and SpongeBob climb up the radio tower and use a piece of chewed gum to stick the record player to the top of the antenna. The song is heard throughout the town, which causes rioting, literal head explosions, and a plane crash into a fireworks storage building. The town hates the song so much that they form an angry mob, which is headed by Fred.
