Stellaris Destroyers vs Battleships - Is Destroyer Spamming More Effective?

Can spamming destroyers defeat the indomitable Battleship? Stellaris is a complicated game with a whole host of variables and factors. Today I have tried to go some way towards answering the question “Battleships or Destroyers, which is best?“. By throwing various fleets of different sizes together and using different conditions, from including admirals to war doctrines and attempting to disengage from the combat, I have attempted to shed some light on this murky subject.
