Sam Mayo (1931)

Full titles read: “And now Pathetone Weekly presents:- Sam Mayo - the famous ’Whispering Whatnot’“. London (probably Pathe Studio). Various shots of comedian Sam Mayo sitting at a grand piano. He is wearing a strange knitted coat or dressing gown and accompanies himself on the piano as he sings a song about a she-cat being chased and cornered by a tomcat. At the end of the song he pins a pound note to the music stand of the piano and says he is going to sing a song to it. He sings a little song about all the people who want his pound note (landlord, grocer, tax inspector etc.). Then sitting at a table he sings the names of numerous British cities who also want the pound note. Duplicate exists in Turns Can 15 - see separate record for details.
