A New Kind Of Man With A New Kind Of Love - Fats Waller Piano Transcription
Here’s my transcription of “A New Kind Of Man With A New Kind Of Love,“ as played by Thomas “Fats“ Waller in August of 1924, “Standard Play-A-Roll“ Piano roll #0677. Composed by Sidney Clare and Flatow, this is a nice, bluesy little tune. The final chorus begins with walking tenths for several measures. Fats would later include this left hand styling in his 1929 recording “Sweet Savannah Sue.“ This piano roll sounds a bit different from his other rolls, and in my opinion sounds more similar to his accompaniment work from around the same time. Nevertheless, it is a great tune, and is in fact one of the first few Fats Waller piano rolls I had ever heard.
