Tree Planting (1962)

Holborn, London. Various shots show adults and children digging a huge hole on what looks like part of a cleared bomb site in an urban area; a small boy sprays water into the hole with a hose. A fully grown tree arrives on a lorry and is lowered into the ground by the truck apparatus. In a forest we see men digging up a tree, winding rope around it to stop the bark from being damaged when it is lifted by a clamp. Several shots of them attaching the clamp and lifting the tree out of the ground. One of the men gets into a Land Rover and tows the clamp and tree off. M/S of the trees in the forest (I think they are Silver Birch). Note: information on file says the tree was planted next the the Cubitt Playpark, a former bomb site that was turned into a garden and playground by local residents. I hope it is still there!
