The Russian romance “Калитка“ that translates as the Little Gate, was composed by Vsevolod Buyukli (1873—1920) in 1898. It became a well-known Russian-Gypsy art song/romance which has been performed by many famous singers from Russia, and by the Hollywood star, Dina Durbin in the movie His Butler’s Sister (1943).
