We felt like the first snow day of the season was a great time to take a trip down memory lane. Figure since it’s a north Easter today that trip had to be a cozy one! A Sunflower Farm Baby Goats in Pajamas Extravaganza! Don Pedro is our oldest goat and has seen 14 years of fun on the farm! At least once a season, we dress up the babies in pajamas for a fun romp around the barn. The first pajamas were made by Stella who had never been in the farm, but shipped the jammies to us from down south in case our first kids were born on an extra cold night. How sweet is that? We passed those strawberry pajamas onto another farm when they had babies born on a cold spring day, where temps dipped below freezing. Since then , a number of very sweet farm friends have sent us pajamas and sweaters, lovingly made for a baby goats who might need them on cold days. Since we have so many, we also break them out just for fun occasionally! (After the first couple days, goats are great at keeping their body temperature regulated as long as they are kept out of a direct draft and don’t get wet! They also develop a cashmere undercoat each winter which keeps them nice and warm, so even on days like today when the snow is falling and the winds are howling, so they do fine in an unheated barn as long as we keep the doors shut!) Consider this joyful compilation of goats in pjs our winter thanks for all the sweet things you have all done over the years to help keep our goats loved, happy and healthy! Thanks for visiting farm friends. Read more about our Farm philosophy and check out our live barn cam here:
