The “Counter-Offensive“ Was A Scam With An Evil Purpose. | Dr. Philip Cunliffe
Dr. Philip Cunliffe explains why we were bombarded with images of heroic Ukrainian fighters during the “big super duper counter offensive“ (to quote the always brilliant Alex Christoforou), engaged in an assault that no Western military would have been willing to fight—against all odds and without any kind of air superiority. Why was the meat grinder such a huge thing while achieving only casualties on the side of the “offensive“ force? Well. The answer is sad. It was a spectacle and always meant to be one. Listen to Dr. Cunliffe explain why and how this is and how the philosophy of Jean Baudrillard can help us make sense of the nonsense.
Dr. Cunliffe’s short essay:
Philip Cunliffe is an Associate Professor of International Relations at the Institute of Risk and Disaster Reduction at the University College London. He is the author of various books, his newest one being “Taking Control: Sovereignty and Democracy After Brexit”.
