Food Research Beware - Other Colour Pics Share This Title (1966)

Leatherhead, Surrey. At the British Food Manufacturing Industries Research Association we see various experiments being carried out on food. The amount of pips in a strawberry are added up on a little counter by a scientist; another tests the strength of a black currant skin on a special machine. The ’stiffness’ of jelly is measured; good panning shot along a line of brightly coloured jellies, where the first is reasonably high, the second a bit squat, the third has it’s mould taken off to reveal a collapsed jelly. Lemon curd is seen being cooked in little pots in an oven; some boil over and when taken out are compared with lemon curd tarts. M/S panning along four groups of uncooked sausages labelled A, B, C and D; two from C and D are put into two separate frying pans and cooked; the sausages in one pan disintegrate as they cook.
