Reel 3. Ross and Keith Smith - first aeroplane flight from England to Australia. Amy Johnson returns from Australia in 1929. Led home by Imperial Airways liner to Croydon airport. She arrives at dusk to a welcome from a large crowd. Maggie (Margaret) Bondfield presents Amy with a gift. “Jason“ Amy’s plane is shown. A passenger sea plane (“a flying boat“) is featured - a Dornier X (DOX). Southampton flying boat with Rolls Royce engines takes off from the sea. Saunders-Roe seaplane with the aircraft’s designer Mr A.V. Roe on board. The plane taxis along the water. Messrs Vickers factory - men are seen working on the bodies of planes. Vickers Supermarine Racer is being constructed for the Schneider Trophy contest. Squadron Leader Olebar (sp?) flies in a Fairey (?) Firefly. Men push the plane out into the water. He is flying from Calshot. The plane takes off. We see it land on the water. Flight Lieutenant Dry the Engineer Officer inspects a Gloucester or Gloster Napier. Several men do
