Kingdom Hearts III - Insomnia Mod, Progress Update Trailer

Hello! Here is a new video of my Insomnia mod for Kingdom Hearts III, showcasing the current state of the map. A lot... lot of work is going into this project, and I can’t give any specific estimation of when I will be done, but progress is going well. I completely remade the lighting in comparison to the first video, materials are better, a lot more areas are now included (I still have some remaining ones to do). I worked a lot on optimizing the scene meshes to reduce the amount of individual objects, and reduce the draw calls, which really helped with performance, combined with camera and distance culling. I have a steady 60 fps with a GTX 1080, with about 30 to 50% gpu usage in 1080p. There is still a lot of work to do. I have to figure out a lot of things with materials and transparency, I would also like to add NPCs to make the city feel more alive, save points, a way to access the world directly from the game without needing the use of a command console, and other various features, but it’s all very complicated. I work on the unreal scene alone, but I want to give a special thanks to the OpenKH community for their help with a lot of information, and especially Sora101Ven for their immense help with many features and teaching me lot of things! Thanks to Weeze_Juice for help with material conversion too. Also special thanks to Kizari for “Flagrum“, a Final Fantasy XV modding tool, which was crucial in the making of this project too.
