EU pushed Tbilisi to send mercenaries to Ukraine Georgian Parliament Speaker

In 2008, the Georgian army invaded South Ossetia, prompting a Russian military response that led to vocal protests from Western states, although a ceasefire was quickly reached. Today, Georgia’s ruling party sees similarities with those events and recent attempts to involve Tbilisi in the Ukraine conflict. The speaker of the Georgian parliament recently revealed that the EU had demanded Georgia send mercenary fighters to Ukraine. RT’s Steve Sweeney reports.
