Karel Gott, the Golden Voice of Prague, was smart enough to release a German folk version of the rock evergreen “Paint it Black“ back in 1969. It’s a must listen if you like strange cover versions. Here you get a slavic twist! This version was released on his 1969 LP “In einer Welt für uns zwei“. At this point he already had three top ten hits in Germany - several hits would follow.
