Colt Clark and the Quarantine Kids play "The Heart of Rock and Roll"

Hey guys! Today we’re taking a break from the Christmas songs to perform one for my (Aubree) dad’s birthday today! Quick backstory…I’m a little bit fuzzy on the details as it was a long time ago, but at some point around the time that Colt and I got married, this song came on the radio when we were with my parents. Colt and I were singing the lyrics of the chorus. We sang, “Now the OBOE may be barely breathing, but the heart of rock and roll, heart of rock and roll is still beatin’.” My dad heard us and asked us what we just sang. We were both confused as to what he could have misheard and repeated what we had sang. He said, “It’s the OLD BOY may be barely breathin’…NOT THE OBOE!” Perhaps I’ve never seen him laugh harder. HAHA! Colt and I thought the meaning of the lyric was that the oboe (classical instruments) were on the way out, but the heart of rock and roll was still alive and well. Apparently not.
