F.A. Cup Semi-Finals - Man. City V. Sunderland (1955)

Birmingham, Merseyside. Start of the F.A. (Football Association) Cup semi-final match between Manchester City and Sunderland. GV Manchester in white shorts kick off. SV Manchester attacking on a very muddy pitch. They work ball into the Sunderland goal area, Bobby Johnstone is obstructed in the penalty area. (this could have been a penalty). LV Roy Paul takes the indirect free kick, the ball is scrambled about the front of the goal before being sent just wide. The goal keeper Willie Fraser didn’t know much about it as he was unsighted. SV Crowd. SV Manchester still attacking. Paddy Fagan neatly tracks George Aitken, centres along the goal line, the ball passes over Fraser’s head but Stan Anderson is there to head away from Roy Clarke. Clarke somehow gets the ball and fires a shot which Fraser has no difficulty in holding. He clears up field. SV A Sunderland player chasing the ball.
