Kate Winslet’s Shocking New Role How She Became a Ruthless Dictator in HBO’s The Regime

Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet is set to return to HBO for a new limited series titled The Regime. The series, which will premiere in 2024, will depict a year within the palace of a crumbling authoritarian regime in a fictional Middle European country. Winslet will play the Chancellor, the dictator of the nation, who faces domestic turmoil that threatens her hold on power. The Regime is created by Will Tracy, who will also serve as writer, executive producer and showrunner. Stephen Frears and Jessica Hobbs will direct episodes and executive produce. Other executive producers include Winslet, Frank Rich and Tracey Seaward. The writing team includes Seth Reiss, Juli Weiner, Jen Spyra, Gary Shteyngart, and Sarah DeLappe. The cast of The Regime also features Matthias Schoenaerts, Guillaume Gallienne, Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton and Hugh Grant.
