Hey you wanna see me NUKE my own channel?
The song is now on Spotify!
This song is based on “Солдатами не рождаются“ (“Soldatami ne rozhdayutsa“ / “Soldiers are not born“) by Egor Letov, my favorite singer ever:
Lyrics translation to English:
It’s a song about the Soviet-Afghan war, and more specifically how the Soviet elites were partying while they sent people to die in Afghanistan, then silenced angry grief with patriotic songs.
I can’t help but think it’s similar to how our elites are partying while they lock us up, then silence anger with fearmongering and scapegoating.
It’s fascinating and scary how many of Egor Letov’s lyrics apply to today’s Western societies.

LYRICS:
[1]
You can never find a good spot that’s empty
So we threw all the excess corpse down a ditch
We the elites work for your health tirelessly
Never lied, sold you out, or blame switched to get rich
[CHORUS]
Cuz government’s never got it wrong
A government can’t be wrong
it’s never the government at fault
it’s the disobedient’s fault
[2]
You can never find a good spot that is clean
Trust me bro you’re still livin’ in a free country
you still have the right to go out protestin’
just like the cops have the right to kick your teeth in
[CHORUS]
Cuz government’s never got it wrong
a government can’t be wrong
We don’t lock you down because we like to
we lock you down because we “have to“
[3]
You can never find a good spot without sin
I just turned the money printer in full spin
Saving your savings like Weimar Germany
You know afterwards it’s back to democracy
[CHORUS]
Cuz government’s never got it wrong
a government can’t be wrong
There’s tons of historical precedents
of benevolent governments
[4]
You can never be a tyrant with no scapegoat
Everything bad in our country is their fault
So I’ve made first and second class citizenry
This has always been in the right side of History
[CHORUS]
Cuz government’s never got it wrong
a government can’t be wrong
Human rights require a QR code
All I can say is you’re welcome
[FINAL CHORUS]
Cuz government’s never got it wrong
a government can’t be wrong
We must trust the WHO
Just don’t ask about Taiwan tho
