Do You Need to Learn Phrasal Verbs? Are Phrasal Verbs Actually Used by English Speakers?

So you’re learning English and you’ve discovered that learning phrasal verbs is a bit difficult. You might be wondering if you really need to learn them. Do native English speakers really use phrasal verbs in everyday speech? How could they? There are so many of them! In this English lesson I’ll examine a current song, a tv show, a Youtube video, and a news article and let you know if I find any phrasal verbs. I’ve also tried to keep track of how many times I’ve used phrasal verbs in English conversations over the last couple of days. I won’t give you the answer here as to whether you should learn phrasal verbs or not. I won’t tell you if you should spend a lot or a little bit of time on it or no time at all.
