Rabbis disrupt UN meeting to demand Gaza ceasefire

A group of rabbis staged a protest at the United Nations on Tuesday, holding a sit-in and demanding a ‘ceasefire and accountability for Israel’s war crimes.’ The rabbis gained access to the UN Security Council Chamber via a guided tour, where they sang traditional songs and urged the US to stop vetoing UN resolutions on Gaza. ‘We are here to encourage all member states to reaffirm and recommit to the goals of the United Nations Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, offering not just words of solidarity with Palestinians but meaningful actions to save lives,’ said one protester. The group also held banners reading ‘Biden: the world says ceasefire’ and ‘Biden: Stop vetoing peace.’
