Building An Alaskan Log Cabin - Week 13

This video shows a different side of this project. The installation of a water well is not necessarily scenic but it is an important aspect of the work. The water line in this video terminates above ground about 10 feet from the cabin. I plan to construct a small building there to accommodate the cabin’s mechanical equipment, including the little boiler. All the piping connections to the cabin (from the mechanical building) will be run above ground in an insulated utilidor. The interior cabin will be dedicated to living space only. Also, in order to clarify, this project is not an off-grid cabin. It is built on the outskirts of the community where I live. So far, all the power for the project has been provided by a small 2000 watt portable generator, but I plan to run permanent power to the lot in the near future.
