World’s Smallest Stegosaur Dinosaur Footprint

Measuring under 6 cm (2.2 inches) in length, the 110 million-year-old fossil footprint is from the smallest known Stegosaur dinosaur track-maker, a cat-sized animal. While these are not the first dinosaur footprints discovered from the Huangyangquan reservoir area in the Xinjiang Province, China, these fossils are from a new tracksite that is dominated by Stegosaur tracks of a much larger size (~30 cm). An international team of palaeontologists (China, USA, Germany, Australia) conducted the research published in the journal Palaios.
