The ’mille Miglia’ Road Race (1949)

Italy. Documentation states Biondetti 3x winner, Taruffi holds several world speed records, Bonetto driving a Ferrari crosses Parma at 170 k per hour. Biondetti and Taruffi drive over the Cisa pass at full speed. The racers pass through Pisa and Leghorn on the Aurelia roads heading for Rome. At Ponte Milvio leading into Rome Segre drives his 1100 touring class bearing number 105. Number 335, the English driver Widson on his Ealy placed first in the category over 1100. number 508 Aurichio on a 1100 sport. Bonetto made the best time up to Rome, while Taruffi came second, the third one is Roll. From Rome the Adriatic sea speed duel was started between Taruffi and Biondetti on the highway to Roseto. Taruffi had to retire for motor trouble thus giving Bonetto the second place in the contest. Biondetti reached the finish line with an average speed of 130 kilometres per hour.
