Arsenal fans protest against club owner Kroenke ahead of Europa League semi-final vs Villarreal

Arsenal fans are gathering outside the Emirates Stadium in London on Thursday, May 6, to demand the resignation of club owner, American billionaire Stan Kroenke, just hours before their UEFA Europa League semi-final second leg match against Villarreal. Protests against the club’s current ownership have increased in recent weeks following the failed European Super League project, which Kroenke signed Arsenal up for. Fans are demanding the US businessman sell the club, with Swedish Spotify co-founder and CEO Daniel Ek among those to have expressed a strong interest in a potential acquisition. Ahead of the match, the Gunners face an uphill battle following a 2-1 defeat in the first leg in order to secure a spot in this year’s final, set to take place in Gdansk on May 26. The club’s last European final was in 2019 when, under current Villarreal manager Unai Emery, they reached the Europa League final only to lose 4-1 against Chelsea. #Arsenal #KroenkeOut #StanKroenke #EuropaLeague #UEFA #FIFA
