Kyan No Sai

Kyan no Sai bears the name of Shinei Kyan Sensei (no relation to Chotoku Kyan) who studied with Shosei Kina (and others). Kyan Sensei was connected with the Matsubayashi style in its early stages and was know to have introduced this Sai kata, Shirotaro no Kon (and others) to the Matsubayashi-Ryu curriculum. The version shown here is a variation taugh to Lemus Sensei by Toshihiro Oshiro Sensei and Kyshoshi Nishime Sensei both who were affiliated with Matsubayashi-Ryu but also trained with Masao Shima Sensei
