◾The town of Gernika in Basque Country stands in solidarity with Palestine. ◾Guernica was heavily bombed in 1937 during the Spanish civil war by the German Nazi aviation unit Condor Legion at the service of the Fascist army of General Franco. It was the first modern carpet bombing of history, the first time ever a civilian town with no significant military objectives was attacked by enemy aviation.
